Lies

Lies (a poem written by someone to a wise person)

Dirty, sneaking insidious lies,
Destroying life before my eyes,
Wheedling, twisting at every pass,
Silently killing like poison gas.

Luckily tho I have you,
And can look at life completely new,
You hold my hand when I am sad,
You tell me different when I think I'm 'bad.'

You just sit with me and hear my pain,
When lies have blinded eyes and brain,
You play and tease and laugh and joke,
When I'm thinking that I'm terminally broke,

You tell me I'm good as I am,
You tell me that I'm worth a damn,
You tell me that I'm loved and whole,
and I believe your loving soul.
